An Armenian soldier was shot dead by an Azeri sniper while on combat duty in the northern section of the Karabakh line of contact on Tuesday. In a press release the Karabakh Defense Army identified the victim as 19-year-old Karen Galstyan. This is the second Armenian killed in the conflict zone within just over a week as tensions have risen along the entire perimeter of the line of contact as well as on the Tavush section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Paris, France, late last week in an effort to give impetus to the internationally mediated peace process. The meeting, however, did not result in any breakthrough, with Armenia accusing Azerbaijan, instead, of misleading its society on the course of the talks. Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan on Saturday, in particular, reacted to the statement of his opposite number in Azerbaijan, Elman Abdullayev, who said that “territorial integrity is a basis of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan”. Balayan said it was a distortion of the contents of the meeting and reflected Azerbaijan’s continuing practice of presenting the negotiating process “upside down”.

"Pakistan does not recognise the Republic of Armenia, and the two countries have no diplomatic relations. This is because Pakistan and their Mujahadeen shitheads support Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh War. Therefore, Armenia supports India's right to Kashmir in the Kashmir conflict against Pakistan and India reconises the independence of Karabagh. Other countries that have no diplomatic relations with Armenia are Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Turkey." - A.N
